The win was not only exciting for the parents and students, but especially the players and coaches on the field.
“We finally played as a unit, this is how we want to play and we came out on top for once,” Pottinger said. “Everyone was great, the fans were here and they were crazy.”
Athletic director Steve Harms also said that the team played well and together as a whole, and he could not be more proud.
“They stayed together, instead of letting big plays get them down,” Harms said. “[BVW] was undefeated and favored to win the league, it’s a big win.”
Harms said although the game was both exciting and nerve-wracking for everyone, having a full student section backing the team helped the Huskies succeed and bring in a big win.
“The big crowd helped [the team],” Harms said. “It was a total school win. This was the best game we’ve had so far this year, on both sides of the ball.”
