After a season that ended with the team missing the state tournament by one point, the team looks to make it to state this year. With the team only having two seniors, head coach Ken Thomas feels it will be important to develop the youth on the team.

“This is my fifth year involved in the program, and this is the youngest team we have had,” Thomas said. “It’s a situation where we need to continue the growth of our younger players.”

Junior Beth Shniderson, who placed in the top 50 individually at state last year, has her goals set high as she hopes herself and the rest of the team can qualify for state.

“We definitely want to qualify for state this year because we were so close last year that I think we are driven a little more,” Shniderson said.

Both Shniderson and Thomas believe it will take a lot of dedication and work to qualify for state, but they are confident that their team has it in them.

“This years team just has an attitude when they come to practice that they’re there to get better and they’re focused when they are working on things,” Thomas said. “They are just great ladies to work with.”
