With the 2016 football seasons’ arrival, the Huskies look to bounce back after losing twenty-seven seniors from last season. There are four returning starters on offense as well as  four on defense. Although there are only ten seniors this year, senior Soye Olowu said that young talent could lead them to a great season.

“I feel like our team is a lot better than last year,” Olowu said. “I think a lot of new faces could do some really good stuff on the football field.”

Head Coach Mike Zegunis said he also believes that the Huskies are looking at a great season for the program, as long as they can minimize injuries.

“We’ve got some really good players, and we have a really good team,” Zegunis said. “I see us being able to compete with anybody we play on our schedule. The EKL is tough, so we don’t have any easy games, but I think we can compete with any of those teams if we stay healthy.”
