The BVNW girls varsity basketball team came back in the second half to defeat the ON eagles. The girls improve their record to 1-1.

The girls began the game and trailed ON through the first half. The girls went to the locker room down 10 at halftime, 21-31. Then as the second half began, they began to get after ON the rest of the game. BVNW came back throughout the third quarter and took a three point lead with a buzzer beating three from no. 14, senior Madison Jones, to make the game 42-39. The girls won the game with a score of 58-41. Head coach David Glenn shares his thoughts on the game.

“The game had a slow start, but they continued to fight in the second half and they never gave up,” Glenn said, “We really have to do what we’re trying to do better and for longer periods of time. When we don’t do the things that we’re trying to do as a team, we’re not successful, but when we do, we start to have success.”

Jones said what she believes the team needs to work on.

“We could improve on defense and helping each other out on help side with the big girls down on the post.” Jones said.
