Alyssa Gagnon is a junior and the Sports Editor of “The Express.” This is her second year on staff, and first year as an editor. Outside of staff, Alyssa is a part of the BVNW girls soccer team, NEHS, Quill & Scroll and NHS.When not in school, she enjoys playing soccer, listening to music, going to the gym and spending time with her friends. Alyssa is very excited for what this year will bring, and what she will be able to contribute to “The Express.”
Fourth quarter update

The Falcons opened the fourth quarter by scoring both their free throws, however the Huskies still led the Falcons 39-29. Throughout the beginning of the quarter, Wichita Heights began to reduce the amount of points between the two teams. Despite this, the Huskies had a 6-point scoring streak with senior Landon Braun scoring the first of the baskets with 4:06 left on the clock. Shortly after, Braun scored one more, along with Stubblefield adding 2 more points on the board.
Wichita Heights would go on to put a stop to the Huskies’ scoring streak by scoring 2 of their own. Then, with 3:01 remaining in the game, the Falcons called a timeout. At this point, the Huskies led the Falcons 47-39.
The last basket of the game would come from Fritz, making the final score 55-50. With this win, the Huskies are the 2023 6A boys basketball state championship.
