Alyssa Gagnon is a senior and writer for “The Express” as well as a designer. This is her third year on staff. Outside of newspaper, Alyssa is involved in soccer, Quill and Scroll, NHS, SNHS and Kay Club. In her free time, she loves to hang out with her friends, travel, play soccer, go to the gym, and listen to music. Alyssa is very thankful to be apart of “The Express” and is excited to see where this year takes her.
Fourth quarter update

The Falcons opened the fourth quarter by scoring both their free throws, however the Huskies still led the Falcons 39-29. Throughout the beginning of the quarter, Wichita Heights began to reduce the amount of points between the two teams. Despite this, the Huskies had a 6-point scoring streak with senior Landon Braun scoring the first of the baskets with 4:06 left on the clock. Shortly after, Braun scored one more, along with Stubblefield adding 2 more points on the board.
Wichita Heights would go on to put a stop to the Huskies’ scoring streak by scoring 2 of their own. Then, with 3:01 remaining in the game, the Falcons called a timeout. At this point, the Huskies led the Falcons 47-39.
The last basket of the game would come from Fritz, making the final score 55-50. With this win, the Huskies are the 2023 6A boys basketball state championship.
