The girls varsity basketball team took on Blue Valley in their pink-out game Monday. The game resulted in a victory for BVNW, 49-35.

During halftime, the Dazzler dance team performed four different routines with the Junior Dazzlers, a group of young girls and boys that aspire to become part of the dance team when they reach the high school level.

Head coach Brian Bubalo said that the girls did an impressive job on changing up their defense and passing the ball between players.

“I was very happy with the game overall,” Bubalo said. “We got off to a decent start…and did a real good job with rebounding.”

Player number 44, senior Taylor Cowell, said this win in particular was satisfying. She said the team’s hard work ultimately paid off.

“We’ve been wanting to get this win all week,” Cowell said. “We came into it knowing they would try to get those offensive rebounds, and we did a good job of trying to block them out.”

The team’s next game will be on Thursday against St. Thomas Aquinas at BVNW.
