Senior Tejas Patel, who has been on the BVNW track team for all 4 years of his high school career said the team did a lot of practicing over spring break to prepare for the meet.

“[We prepared through] a lot of practice,” Patel said. “Even over spring break we were here practicing, sprinting, working on technique. This whole week was geared towards [events today].”

Patel said because there was a change in the coaching staff, students are participating different events.

“Our coaching staff has changed a lot,” Patel said. “They have us in different events. I used to just be a pure sprinter and now I’m running 400s. I’m not used to sprinting that long- usually I’m 20, 25 second guy and now I have to run for a whole minute.”

Sophomore Isabelle Aube said the changing in coaching staff has led to more effective practices.

“I feel like practices are more working on plyometrics and stuff instead of sprinting,” Aube said. “I think it [has been more effective].”

Overall, the BVNW girls track team placed 16th and the BVNW boys track team placed 8th.
