The girls bowling team played against other Blue Valley schools at Olathe East Lanes on February 24. The team took second place behind Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Sponsor Sarah Derks said that the team did an amazing job, and played a very consistent game.

“We were able to control the ball very well,” Derks said. “We played a solid game with few errors, and were able to finish strong.”

Senior Kala Brundige said she was pleased with her performance, but there were areas for improvement.

“We need to work on not letting our mind catch up to us during the game,” Brundige said. “If we can learn to block out those distractions, our game will improve.”

The team will be traveling to Topeka this Friday for the regional championships. According to Derks, the team has great potential to do well, and she is looking forward to a strong performance.

“We have improved so much in just a few weeks,” Derks said. “Based on what I know about our team, we have a great chance of doing very well at the competition.”
