BVNW Latin Convention results

On Friday, a group of 11 Latin students and Classics enthusiasts participated in the Kansas Junior Classical League Convention. According to Latin teacher Caitlin Rose, the students took two or three academic tests which were entered into a competition against around 300 other students. The convention included other competitions such as a costume contest, art competitions, and Certamen (trivia) tournaments.

The results are as follows:

Academic Tests

Eric Brill placed 2nd for Mottoes, Quotes and Abbreviations Level 2

Alyssa Barrett placed 3rd for Mythology Level 1

Sean Doyle placed 3rd for Reading Comprehension Level 2

Maddie Kane placed 2nd for Vocabulary Level 1

Michela Gesmini placed 4th for Vocabulary Advanced

Other Awards

 Anna Welsh placed 2nd in the 3D art competition for her model of the pantheon

Zaid Elkhateeb placed 6th in the 2D art competition for his drawing of Medusa

Tori Dye and Jack Anderson placed 2nd in the couples costume competition for their representation of Selene & Endymion
