Jack Nitz is a senior and the Sports Editor of “The Express.” Outside of newspaper he is the Senior Class President, the DECA treasurer, National Honor Society membership co-chair, and a member of Quill and Scroll Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. In his free time Jack enjoys spending time with friends, watching and playing sports and talking about Fantasy Football. Jack is looking forward to covering BVNW sports this year and hopes to improve on his leadership and writing skills this year.
First quarter update
March 12, 2022
The Falcons secured the opening tipoff and made a three pointer to start the game. After a turnover on offense by the Huskies, Wichita Heights made an open layup to go up 5-0.
The Huskies turned the ball over three more times and the Falcons responded with five more points to take a 10-0 lead four minutes into the game. After a three pointer by Wichita Heights, the Huskies called a timeout, trailing 13-0 with 2:43 remaining in the first quarter.
The Huskies first points of the game came on two made free throws by sophomore Joey Matteoni who got to the line after getting fouled on a putback layup attempt.
The Falcons scored four more points to close out the half with a 15-2 lead.
