Girls Basketball

After tying for third in the EKL, head coach of the girl’s varsity basketball team Brian Bubalo said he looks to continue success from last year by winning 12 to 15 games.  To do that, Bubalo said they need to be cohesive and work as a team.

“We always want to play hard, play smart, and play together,” Bubalo said. “[I’d] like to see us continue to improve throughout the year.”

Senior Abby Bird is one of the three returning seniors on the team who has been in the program for all four years. Bird said although the team has changed quite a bit, she thinks all the new members will have a positive impact.

“It’s a new group of girls… but I think we are still going to be as good [as last season,]” Bird said. “I’m excited to see how all the girls improve.”

With three seniors on the team, Bubalo said he thinks they have been good leaders so far and expects a lot from them.

“Our seniors are good leaders,” Bubalo said. “They’ve been leaders… on and off the court. They’ve done a good job.”
