Inclement weather karma

District changes times for the school day and adds a day to the year in order to meet state requirements.

Blue Valley has had five inclement weather days so far this year, yet they only have built in three for the year. Although the snow days have been relaxing, Blue Valley students now have to make up some of the days. In order to reach the required number of instructional minutes the state requires, Blue Valley turned the professional learning day on April 22 into a full school day for all students. In addition to this, all schools will add five minutes to the end of the day and all high schools will add an additional five minutes to the start of the day, as well. Assuming no additional school cancellations due to inclement weather, Blue Valley hopes to have the school year end before Memorial Day on Friday, May 24.
