The varsity boys soccer team defeated Shawnee Mission Northwest last night 1-0 in the second 10 minute overtime.“I think that was one of the toughest teams we have played all season,” Coach Murphy said. “That was a very good team that was well coached.”
The game ended in a 0-0 tie. Following regulation play, the teams played a 10-minute sudden-death overtime, which also ended in a 0-0 tie. With less than a minute remaining in the second sudden-death overtime, Junior Blake Levine scored the game winning goal for the Huskies’.
“I scored the game winning goal,” Levine said. “It feels pretty amazing, I’m speechless.”
Both Coach Murphy and Levine agreed that it was a hard fought battle the whole game.
