Back-to-back football games on Friday, including BVNW against Blue Valley West, could cause chaos at the DAC due to the number of people attending the games.

Blue Valley North is scheduled to host Blue Valley at 5 p.m. and BVNW is scheduled to play at 8:15 p.m.

BVNW Athletic Director Kevin Gerke said this decision was made to maximize the number of games that would be played on Friday nights. Due to the Jewish observance of Rosh Hashanah the following week, the Blue Valley School District scheduled two games this Friday.

Throughout the night, the gates will be open for the public to pay and enter. Gerke said they will not try to clear people out of the stadium, but rather let fans come and go when they choose.

Since BVNW will play in the second game of the night, Gerke said the parking will be an issue, but to remain patient as this is not a normal occurrence. Gerke said there will be security to help direct traffic.

Nevertheless, Gerke said he expects the night to be a great experience for the teams and fans.

“I think ultimately by the time we kickoff, it’s going to be a great atmosphere and it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Gerke said.

This will be the first and only time this season a doubleheader for football will occur at the DAC.
