How did your experience at BVNW relate to your experience at a community college?

JCCC is very similar to Northwest in that the classes are really small and you get to know your teachers and they get to know you and it has the same feeling as high school, where it’s not really intimidating to go to class every day. But, it’s not very social at all because it’s a community college.

What should students graduating this year expect going into college?

“I guess I would say go into it with an open mind. And the friends you had in high school are really important and you might still keep those friends, but the relationships you make in college are really going to be the ones that last the longest and are going to have an impact on your life. High school is important, but don’t be attached to the life you made there. The one you are about to start is forever.”

How did BVNW prepare you academically?

“Academically, I felt farther ahead than the freshmen I was surrounded by, especially in the English department. My English teacher wanted me to be an English major because she said that I excelled so well in my English courses and I think that’s all because of the great staff in the English department at Northwest, they are all so awesome.”
