Located near the corner of Quivira and 135th Street, Swig, a Utah-based soda shop, arrived this summer, just six minutes away from BVNW. Swig is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and is best known for its vast variety of creative soda mixes and treats. With endless drink combinations, there seems to be something for everyone; even if you’re not a huge soda fan!
Swig has seemed to price its items pretty reasonably. With most products ranging from $1-$7, this soda shop is a great option for anybody who is on a budget, while still providing great food and drinks!
One thing that you should keep in mind before visiting, is that this specific location is drive-thru only. With no seating, the new soda shop’s drive-thru tends to be quite busy.
The new soda shop also has a wide selection of cup sizes! The menu includes five different sizes, including a 12-ounce kid’s cup for those who just want a quick refresher. As someone who can be really indecisive, it was nice to see more than just the typical sizes to choose from.
When you first look at Swig’s menu, it can be a little overwhelming with all the choices available. So we thought that we would try a few of the items and share our opinions on them!
Shark Attack

One popular choice at Swig is the Shark Attack. This is one of Swig’s signature “dirty soda” drinks. It is made with Sprite, lemonade and blue raspberry syrup, topped with a gummy shark. Shark Attack comes in five different sizes, varying from 12-ounce to 44-ounce cups. The drink is a refreshing mix of both a tangy citrus taste from the lemonade and a sweeter, candy-like taste from the blue raspberry flavoring and the gummy shark.
Overall, I thought that Shark Attack tasted pretty good. I really appreciated the gummy shark that goes with the drink. The only thing that I didn’t love about the drink is that it was a bit too tart. It didn’t completely ruin the drink; I just wish it were a bit sweeter. Even though this drink wasn’t quite as sweet as I was hoping, I still think that the pricing for the drink is pretty fair.
Salted Pretzel Bites

Although Swig is best known for its drinks, they also serve a few different choices for a quick snack! Two of these options are pretzel bites, garlic or salted. The salted pretzel bites are warm and soft, with a perfect golden-brown outside and a soft center. Topped with a light amount of salt, these pretzel bites hit just right!
Swig offers options for pretzel bite dipping sauces as well! Choose from white cheddar, marinara sauce or strawberry cream cheese for just a small additional price of 50 cents.
These savory pretzel bites are decent in size, and you are given a good portion for the price you pay. I would absolutely recommend these flavorful bites to anyone who is planning a trip to Swig.
Mystic Mango

At first, I was a little bummed that they didn’t have one of their seasonal favorites, the Dragonada, but I ended up getting their Mystic Mango. This drink features flavors such as strawberry, lemon, and mango along with a lemony aftertaste. It was a very hot and sunny day, so the majority of the ice did end up melting kind of quickly. Overall, I felt the drink was very tasty and refreshing.
It had a sweet mango taste with a tangy lemon flavor that added to the drink’s element.
This drink somewhat reminded me of Chick-fil-A’s pineapple dragonfruit lemonade, which I also enjoy. I can for sure see why this is one of their seasonal favorites, as it is absolutely perfect for a hot summer day!
Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies

I originally came in expecting only to get some drinks, but to my surprise, they also had a couple of food items available. Honestly, it was really hard to make a choice, but I ended up going with their mini chocolate chip cookies. It came with 12 cookies for the price of $3.99, which I felt was pretty reasonable for the number of cookies you receive. They were soft but somewhat chewy at the same time. They were good, but I don’t really see myself getting these again.
So, if you are looking for your new go-to drink shop, where fun and flavor collide, Swig might just be your new favorite spot! From their wide selection of drinks to their flavorful food options, Swig truly does seem to have something for every taste bud.
