The boys varsity soccer team lost to Shawnee Mission East (SME) with a final score of 0-1 at the Shawnee Mission District Soccer Complex on October 10. This is their second loss of the season, bringing their overall record to 6-2-1.

Neither team scored during the first half. The first and only goal in the game occurred when SME scored with 13:06 left in the second half.

Goalkeeper junior Glass said that the team was able to get crosses in well, but that the team needs to work on finishing out on their opportunities.

“We’ve got lots of potential and we just need to put it into play,” Glass said. “We’ve shown it- we just need to bring it together consistently.”

Head coach Rick Pribyl said that the three captains on the team played very well and that there were a lot of individual battles that the team won. He also said that the team needs to work on going back to the basic skills.

“This is just our second loss- it’s not too bad,” Pribyl said. “We just have to keep it in our mind that we are winners, no matter what the score.”
