With a final score of 28-21, BVNW beat Shawnee Mission South (SMS) at the Homecoming football game.

In the first quarter, BVNW scored its first touchdown and it was the only touchdown of the quarter. In the second quarter, SMS made a comeback, scoring three touchdowns, while BVNW only scored one, bringing the score to 14-21 at the half.

According to coach Tenny Dewey, the SMS defense is very solid and it took BVNW a couple of tries to figure out how to best work around their defensive strategies. But after a third quarter that resulted in no score changes, BVNW came back to score two touchdowns bringing the final score to 28-21.

According to senior Brian Ramsey, the game went well overall, even though there were some things in the first half that didn’t go as smoothly as they had wished.

“In the first half there were some things that didn’t go our way but we came back and it was a good game,” Ramsey said.
