BVNW brought in a win in football against the Gardner Edgerton High School (GEHS) Trailblazers, 28-21 Thursday night at the DAC.
“We came over a lot of adversity, the game had its ups and downs but overall it was a great win,” athletic director Steve Harms said.
As the score fluctuated back and forth, the Huskies had the lead by the end of the second quarter with a score of 21-13.
During the third quarter GEHS came back with a touchdown and a 2-point conversion tying the score 21-21. But once again the Huskies got another touchdown making the score 28-21. In the last 10 minutes of the game the Blazers came close to scoring, but with a good defense BVNW held out to win with a score of 28-21.
According to junior and varsity football player Jacob Rominger, “The game went great for everyone, we all came ready to play…we played together as a unit, and it was a great win tonight.”
According to Harms, the team played well. The varsity team now has a record of 2-2.
“Offensively we moved well, and kept defense off the field, and when the defense needed to they used big plays,” Harms said.
