After a successful first year leading the program, which saw the Huskies make the state tournament and finish with a 16-7 record, head varsity baseball coach Jade Samborski has resigned as a teacher and coach. Announcing it in a Remind message sent to the baseball players, Samborski thanked the team for their hard work.

“My time as the head coach of this program was very fulfilling. It is rare to find a group of young men who want to do nothing but play for each other like you do,” Samborski said in the Remind message. “I appreciate all the hard work you put into the program and I have no doubt that success will continue if you keep playing for one another and putting in the work.”

Samborski would not make himself available for an interview for this story.

Playing under Samborski during his junior season, pitcher Dash Goldston said he enjoyed playing for him due to how he was able to bond with the team.

“He was a really good coach and I enjoyed playing with him,” Goldston said. “He knew what he was doing which was a good thing. He was able to rally us when we needed to be rallied and was a good bonding point for the rest of the team. Everyone could bond with each other because he was the glue that stuck.”

Coming into his junior season, Goldston had not pitched for varsity, that changed when Samborski gave him the opportunity to pitch. Goldston said Samborski improved him as a player simply by giving him the opportunities to succeed.

“He gave me opportunities. Before my junior year I didn’t really get any opportunities to play [at] any of the higher levels throughout the year,” Goldston said. “He gave me the opportunity to get some playing time on varsity and he essentially lent me a spot which is anything a player could ask.”
