Early Thursday morning, a quick check of the top trends on Twitter would have brought up the name Bomani Jones, an analyst at ESPN not afraid to speak out on racial injustice. That morning on ESPN’s Mike and Mike show, Jones wore an interesting and thought-provoking shirt that displayed a white-fa...

This weekend, I'm bringing you my favorite compilation of soft electronic tunes to play when you're feeling a little edgy. While none of these are true EDM picks, they each earn a spot on this list for their varying ranges of electronic elements and influences, however subtle.

For some of us, we will be starting a new life in a matter of months, facing the world head on in the middle of our quarter life crises. This may mean a new life in Lawrence or one halfway across the country. This week’s playlist, "California quarter life crisis," is inspired by the west coast - because that's where I'm headed - and the feeling of clearing out and starting over, the whole world waiting for us. (If you’re not actually leaving next year, it's still worth a listen.)

Because this season's bout of spring showers has begun, with a day of rain in the forecast this Saturday, I've compiled a list of my favorite songs to play in my car or my room, cozy and with the sound of rain falling softly outside.

Dear Miss Lonely Hearts by Cold War Kids When I first got into Cold War Kids, I’d only ever heard their more upbeat albums. This song, titled after the album it comes from, still has the sound that is recognizable as Cold War Kids but has a more tragic and haunting sound, like the h...

This week's theme is intended to send you back in time a few decades, regardless of genre. The songs I’m bringing you for the weekend are inspired by an old school aesthetic, although not all of them are actually from the past. Put on some old converse and a leather jacket and get ready to boogie, raise the roof, wop and moonwalk back in time with these timeless tunes.

With the Super Bowl tonight, it’s inconceivable to hate on Cam Newton for his celebrations on the field. Scrutinizing Newton goes beyond just the enthusiasm; the unfair criticism toward Newton as well as other black quarterbacks is wrong, and it doesn’t belong in the 21st century.
