The fast food chain Beef-A-Roo blew up in 1967 . It has started to grow around the midwest, ranging as far north as Michigan and as south as Texas.
A new Beef-A-Roo location just opened up on 9500 W 135th St. Overland Park, Kansas. The lime green design, the name, and how the food was displayed on their website made it seem like a place nobody would go to eat. The interior of the restaurant was country-themed, which included their cowboy mascot.
To go along with the country theme and Midwest vibe, the speakers played lots of country music, such as Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs. The menu displayed a variety of unique styles of burgers and milkshakes. Burgers like the Beef in Cheese, Big Beef Roast, and the Olive Burger. Their milkshake flavors included blue raspberry, cherry and banana. All of these styles and flavors are not something you can get at your local McDonalds. I tried the double bacon cheeseburger and blue raspberry milkshake.
Do not sleep on the Double Bacon Cheeseburger, it is the heart and soul of this restaurant. Its thin, juicy patty and sesame seed bun make it comparable to a Freddy’s steakburger or a McDonald’s Big Mac. The burger also includes two pickles, ketchup, fresh lettuce, chopped onions, and crispy bacon. All of which combine to make the perfect burger. However, with this perfect burger, patience must come. Beef-A-Roo takes significantly longer to prepare their food than other fast food restaurants. But in the end, it all gets delivered hot and fresh. To say the least, the burger is worth the wait.
Calling all blue raspberry lovers, we have found the shake for you. Beef-A-Roo has made a Blue Raspberry Milkshake, and it is one of the best milkshakes they have to offer. Its uniqueness gives it a one-of-a-kind taste while giving you the cold and creamy milkshake texture. This shake and many like it are all one of a kind; few restaurants have such an abundance of flavors. Around the metro, Beef-A-Roo definitely has one of the better fast-food milkshakes. So if you are feeling adventurous, definitely stop by Beef-A-Roo.
